Warnings
LiveWarnings
Warning system settings: limits, reset time, legacy action and multi-tier escalation.
Tip: change one option at a time and verify the result in the group so false positives are easy to spot.
In short
Warnings turn separate violations into a predictable escalation path. Use tiers when one final action is too blunt.
How it works
- A manual command or an automatic filter adds warning points to a member.
- Defendy compares the new total with the configured limit or escalation tiers.
- When a threshold is reached, the related action is applied; old points reset after the selected period.
Set it up step by step
- Open Defendy in Telegram and choose the group you want to configure.
- Compare the current values with the defaults explained below.
- Change one option at a time; use the least disruptive value that meets your goal.
- Check the result in the group after saving.
Every setting explained
Warning profile
Default: legacy / single threshold.
Selects legacy, soft, standard, strict or custom escalation. Changing a preset replaces the current tiers; the WebApp restores the last custom set while the page remains open.
Warning limit
Default: 3.
Legacy single threshold before the configured action is applied. The WebApp offers 1 through 10.
Limit action
Default: Mute.
Action used by the single-threshold mode: do nothing, mute, ban or kick.
Action duration
Default: 3600 sec.
Duration for temporary restriction actions.
Reset time
Default: 24 h.
How long warnings remain active: 1, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72, 168 or 720 hours.
Escalation tiers
Default: None.
Multiple thresholds with separate actions and durations. Each threshold can be 1–20 in the current editor; equal thresholds are automatically shifted to remain unique.
Practical example
A transparent starter policy is: three warning points, reset after 24 hours, then a one-hour mute. Publish this rule for members before enabling stricter tiers.
Recommendations
- Soft preset: warn accumulation moves slowly.
- Strict preset: first violations already restrict the member. Use only after testing.
Troubleshooting
- Check that Defendy is still an administrator in the group.
- Refresh the settings panel and make sure you are editing the correct group.
- If a setting is saved but does not work, check the bot permissions in Telegram.
- If you are not sure what happened, open the moderation log.
