Farewells — Defendy

Set up in the Mini App

Open Settings in your private chat with @defendy_bot, select the group under My groups and check its name at the top.

Open Farewell and enable it.
Choose Manage texts → Add text. Enter the message, optionally attach a photo or video, then tap Save.
Keep the desired texts active and choose a default when random selection is off.
Configure automatic deletion, silent delivery, the destination topic and whether to send a farewell after a kick.

Switches and selectors save when changed. In a separate form with a Save button, save before leaving. If a request fails, reopen the section to check its actual values.

In short

Farewells notify the group when a member leaves. They reuse the same rich-message editor as greetings.

How it works

Defendy receives a voluntary-leave or removal event.
The kicked-user switch decides whether administrator removals should also produce a farewell.
An active phrase is rendered, sent to the selected topic and optionally deleted later.

Every setting explained

Enable farewells

Default: Off.

Sends a farewell when a member leaves.

Trigger on kicked users

Default: On.

Also sends a farewell when a member was removed by an administrator or moderation action.

Random phrase

Default: On.

Chooses one active farewell randomly.

Auto-delete

Default: 0.

Deletes the farewell after: never, 5, 10 or 30 minutes, or 1 hour. The default is never.

Farewell topic

Default: Not set.

Optional forum topic for farewell messages. Turn off the global topic and send /setfarewelltopic in the target topic.

Silent send

Default: On.

Sends farewells without a notification sound. The message remains visible to members.

Practical example

In a busy chat, use a short silent farewell and delete it after five minutes. Disable kicked-user farewells if moderator removals should not be announced publicly.

Recommendations

In high-traffic groups, enable auto-delete to reduce noise.
Disable kicked-user farewells if moderation actions should stay quiet.

Troubleshooting

Check that Defendy is still an administrator in the group.
Refresh the settings panel and make sure you are editing the correct group.
If a setting is saved but does not work, check the bot permissions in Telegram.
If logging is connected and the relevant category is enabled, check the event record. The log cannot show events that were not recorded.
