LiveBot permissions
Which Telegram administrator permissions Defendy needs and what features they cover. The principle of least privilege.

Defendy works only with the Telegram administrator permissions you have granted it. Grant the minimum required for the enabled modules.
Which permission covers what
| Telegram permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Delete messages | Filters (anti-spam, links, forwards, profanity, stop-words), cleanup of service messages, the /del and /purge commands. |
| Restrict and ban members | /mute, /ban, moderation actions, night mode and CAPTCHA. These share one Telegram permission. |
| Pin messages | The /pin, /unpin, /unpinall, /repin commands. |
| Invite users | CAPTCHA for join requests, approving/declining requests, invite links and /revokelink. |
| Manage topics | Managing forum topics. Selecting an existing topic for messages does not by itself require this permission. |
The principle of least privilege
- Do not grant all permissions at once. If you do not use pinning or topics, you can usually leave those permissions off. The current night-mode implementation is an exception: restoring saved group permissions requires the additional rights listed in its guide.
- After changing permissions or the set of administrators, run
/reloadso the bot updates its data. - Defendy cannot restrict Telegram administrators — this is a limitation of the platform itself.
Checking
If a setting is saved but doesn't trigger, the cause is most often a missing permission. Check the bot's permissions in the Telegram group settings and take a look at the action log.
