Chat and forum-topic commands

Pins, reports, admin calls, permission refresh, invitations and Defendy forum topics.

These commands manage the chat and the routes used by Defendy messages. Reply to a message whenever the action relates to that message.

Pinned messages

Reply with /pin to pin a message. /unpin removes the selected pin, /unpinall clears every pin and /repin pins a message again. Check important announcements before using /unpinall; rebuilding the list is manual.

Member reports

A regular member can reply with /report to notify moderators about a message. /admin and /admins call administrators to the message.

Moderators control reports with:

/reports on
/reports off

Test the flow from a non-administrator account because Telegram administrators may be exempt from some moderation behavior.

Refresh administrators

Run /reload after Telegram administrator rights change. Use it when a newly promoted administrator is still denied by Defendy.

Revoke an invitation

/revokelink revokes the current primary invitation. The old link cannot be restored, so find where it is published and replace it after Telegram creates a new one.

Default bot topic

Open the target forum topic and send /settopic. It becomes the default route for features without their own topic. The current value appears under Settings → General.

Feature-specific topics

Turn off Use global topic for the feature, open the destination topic and send:

  • /setcaptchatopic for in-chat captcha;
  • /setgreetingtopic for greetings;
  • /setfarewelltopic for farewells;
  • /setreputationtopic for reputation notifications.

Verify that a positive topic ID appears in the WebApp.

The rules interface currently displays /setrulestopic, but that command has no handler in the current bot build. Keep rules on the global topic.

Night mode

Use /nightmode on, /nightmode off or /nightmode status; /night is the short alias. Review timezone and schedule in the Night mode guide before enabling it.

Troubleshooting

  1. Reply to the target message for pin and report actions.
  2. Send topic commands inside the intended forum topic.
  3. Check Defendy's Telegram administrator rights.
  4. Run /reload after rights change.
