Reputation

Set up in the Mini App#

Open Settings in your private chat with @defendy_bot, select the group under My groups and check its name at the top.

1. Open Reputation and enable it.
2. Choose who may vote: everyone, administrators or an allowlist. Select allowlisted members before enabling that mode.
3. Enable the voting methods you want: positive/negative votes, replies, mentions and reactions.
4. Edit positive/negative words under Voting triggers, or create a custom trigger and tap Save.
5. Choose how the bot responds: message, reaction or no response. Configure the fields shown for that mode.
6. Open the reputation leaderboard to review the results.

Switches and selectors save when changed. In a separate form with a Save button, save before leaving. If a request fails, reopen the section to check its actual values.

Tip: change one option at a time and verify the result in the group so false positives are easy to spot.

In short#

Members recognize helpful messages with votes and reactions. The Mini App provides voting methods, voter access, notifications and a leaderboard. Rank and advanced-sanction screens are not available through normal navigation yet.

How it works#

1. Defendy detects an enabled vote method: reply, mention, reaction or custom trigger.
2. It checks whether the voter is allowed and whether positive or negative voting is enabled.
3. The member’s score changes; review the notification and leaderboard for the result.

Every setting explained#

Enable reputation#

Default: Off.

Turns the reputation system on for the group.

Who can vote#

Default: All members.

All members, admins only, or whitelist mode.

Positive votes#

Default: On.

Allows increasing reputation.

Negative votes#

Default: On.

Allows decreasing reputation.

Reply voting#

Default: On.

Votes by replying to a message with trigger words.

Mention voting#

Default: Off.

Votes by mentioning a user.

Reaction voting#

Default: Off.

Counts selected reactions as positive votes.

Allowed voters#

Default: Empty.

Member whitelist used when vote mode is whitelist.

Practical example#

Enable positive reply voting for all members and keep downvotes off during the first week. Publish the accepted trigger words, then review the leaderboard before adding reactions or downvotes.

Recommendations#

• Start with positive votes. Before enabling downvotes, review who can vote and explain when members should use them.
• Whitelist voting is safer for official expert-only scoring.

Troubleshooting#

• Check that Defendy is still an administrator in the group.
• Refresh the settings panel and make sure you are editing the correct group.
• If a setting is saved but does not work, check the bot permissions in Telegram.
• If logging is connected and the relevant category is enabled, check the event record. The log cannot show events that were not recorded.
