Reaction voting

Configure reputation from Telegram reactions: enablement, emoji set, threshold and notification interactions.

Reactions can add positive reputation to the message author. This screen does not turn negative reactions into downvotes.

SettingDefaultEffect
Reaction votingOffMaster switch on the Reputation page. Selected emoji and threshold remain saved while off, but no reaction votes are awarded.
Upvote reactions👍 ❤️ 🔥 ⭐ 🏆 🎉 💯 😍 🤩Any selected reaction contributes toward the threshold. The editor offers the common Telegram reaction set. Selecting none effectively prevents awards.
Reaction threshold1Number of selected reactions required on one message for +1: 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10.
Upvote notificationOnSet under Notifications; controls whether the award produces a chat message.
Mark source messageOff, 👌Optional Defendy reaction on the voter's source message; it is not itself a threshold vote.
Mark target messageOff, 🏆Optional Defendy reaction on the message that received reputation.

Configure it

  1. Enable the reputation system.
  2. Enable Reaction voting on the main Reputation page.
  3. Open Reactions and choose emoji that unambiguously mean approval in your community.
  4. Choose a threshold. In active chats, start with 2 or 3 so one accidental reaction does not award a point.
  5. Under Notifications, decide whether every award should produce a message and whether Defendy should add marker reactions.

Important behavior

  • The threshold uses the combined count of selected positive reactions on one message.
  • Changing the set does not recalculate history.
  • Do not select ambiguous or negative emoji: every selected reaction is treated only as a positive vote.
  • If no reputation is awarded, check the reputation master switch, Reaction voting, selected set and threshold.
