Defendy and Shieldy: setup, features and pricing

Shieldy is an open-source anti-spam bot with a captcha focus. Defendy brings newcomer checks and ongoing moderation into a shared Mini App.

Shieldy

When to consider it

Consider Shieldy when newcomer verification and control over self-hosting are your main requirements.

  • Public source code under the MIT license
  • Focused newcomer verification
  • Documented self-hosting setup

Shieldy’s public repository documents installation and hosting. That matters if you want to inspect and operate the bot yourself.

Settings at hand inside Telegram

Choose Defendy when you also need day-to-day message filters, word lists with different actions, warning tiers and greeting templates. Configure these alongside newcomer checks in the Mini App.

Visual fields, switches and previews help you review a rule before using it. Select your group in the Mini App and open the relevant module.

Before choosing

Self-hosting means maintaining your own infrastructure. An open-source license does not establish the hosted bot’s current price or service terms.

Shieldy pricing

Annual amounts cover the full year, without monthly equivalents or currency conversion.

MIT source; hosted pricing unverified

No current hosted-service price was verified in the cited source. The code includes premium billing settings. Check the bot’s offer; budget hosting separately if running your own copy.

Defendy plans

Defendy has Free, Pro and Business plans. The pricing page lets you compare limits for lists, greetings and other capabilities.

Prices are in rubles per group. The selected period uses the monthly rate. Public checkout is not open yet; the demo does not create a subscription.

What you can configure in Defendy

Open Settings in @defendy_bot, select a group under My groups and choose the relevant section. These examples help you evaluate the interface with a real task; start in a test group.

01

Different lists, different actions

Create a separate advertising list under Stopwords. Choose message deletion and set the member action separately: for example, no penalty while you test the rules.

02

Predictable warnings

Under Warnings, set a limit, action and reset window. For example: 3 points trigger a 1-hour mute, while points expire 24 hours after the first addition. Verify the duration before enabling it.

03

Preview your greeting

Add text, media and a rules-link button in the greeting editor. Review the preview, save the text and test the message in your group: the Telegram client determines the final appearance.
